Extreme visions (from Totaliterra)

Found in my sketchbook. These 2 illustrations were drawn in 2002, the year when Jean-Marie LePen, leader or the Front National, the French ultra-right party, was opposed to Jacques Chirac in final turn of the French presidential election.

I have imagined what coul happen if the bad guy was elected. Nightmare visions. The tyranny of one. A police state. Censorship. The end of the liberty of press. Unique culture. Totalitarism.

The world of Totaliterra.

And they are still accurate today.

Looking in my archives, I found this illustration I made in 2001. It's funny how ten years later it remains accurate. Plastic surgery is still there more than ever, and still creates disasters, among stars, celebrities and all kind of people of every age.

Red UFO in the street of Liege - Photo of Mediacite by Gilderic

Suddenly a strange UFO appeared in a street of Liege (Belgium).

Visitors are coming from everywhere to Liege Mediacite, photo by Gilderic

An alien spaceship ? A futuristic research center ? Not at all. Only a brand new mall, designed by Ron Arad : the Mediacite.

Santa Claus' Secret Hangar (Liege Mediacite), photo by Gilderic

Even if these writings of light on the wall of this hangar seems alien, we are not in the "Area 51". It's only reflections of light.

Parallel Worlds (Spacemen or customers in Liege Mediacite)- Photo by Gilderic

They are not spacemen coming back from a mission in space. Only two guys going for shopping.

Abducted people or curious customers (in Liege Mediacite) - Photo by Gilderic

They are not abducted people wondering what they are doing here. Only customers wondering what will be the next shop they will visit.

The fishing net (Liege Mediacite) - Photo by Gilderic

A fascinating structure attracting photographers.
